This is where the GPP will keep a list of on-going and future projects.
The first set of guidelines the GPP would like to get done are for creating RPM spec files. This is because some spec guidelines have already been written and most of the GPP members use RPM for their own purposes.
GPP members have started marking the RPM guidelines up in DocBook. They aren't yet committed to CVS.
The GPP isn't sure what to do about Debian packaging guidelines. Is there a set already that exist? If so, please email the mailing list.
The GPP hopes to create binaries which are of high enough quality to be released when the source releases are announced. This depends on getting the packaging guidelines done.
In order for this to occur, a compile farm will be required to generate the binaries quickly, as well as making sure they're not to be linked with some weird library which exists on the packagers's machine. One possibility is to contact Sourceforge about using their compile farm.
An idea that Greg Leblanc created is to create a set of frequently automated builds of the "GNOME" packages from CVS. These should include all of the packages that will be shipped with the next GNOME release. This is a large undertaking, both in terms of the hardware required to run these builds and the expertise required to set it up.
